Asya is a Boston-based writer whose work has appeared in The Boston Globe, WBUR Cognoscenti, Design Museum Magazine, Harvard Innovation Labs’ venture stories, Disney’s Babble magazine, and the Scandinavian lifestyle publication The YUME Edit, as well as her arts and culture blog, CulturePeel.

Born in Moscow, Russia, she moved to the US in 1991. An interest in international and cultural studies led her to Georgetown University, where she earned a dual degree in French and Studio Art, and then to the London School of Economics for an MSc in Media & Communications.

Next stop was Copenhagen, where she developed a niche writing for many of Denmark’s top, global design, tech, bioscience and lifestyle companies.

Today, once again in Boston, Asya is pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at Emerson College.

“What happened to the writer is not what matters; what matters is the large sense that the writer is able to make of what happened.”
